Some News

My website now has a gallery page! You can find art for all my comics there, from as far back as 2012. Click here to check out the atrocities I have unearthed!

Speaking of comics…Echo Effect premiered six years ago this month. I decided to ring in that anniversary by quitting this webcomic for good. (Click here for the official announcement.) Have honestly thought about doing this for years, but didn’t reveal it was a possibility till last September. Moving on is simply what’s best for me, mentally and financially.

Oh No, It's Canon Now

Although this is the end of Echo Effect, it won’t be the end of Nicholas and Coco. I love them too much to let them go and plan to give them a second chance in a new series—one that focuses on horror instead of Greek mythology. (Horror has always been my favorite genre, and I need to embrace what makes me happiest.) Already sketching concept art for this, so we'll see how quickly I can piece my ideas together into something coherent!

  1. It's sad to see the end of it but at least those characters will live on. Here's to an exciting new journey!

  2. At least you are continuing on with a couple characters. Sad to see it end, but better to know when to end it than keep going until it fizzles.

    1. Can't help but feel terrible about ending this series prematurely, since I was already two-thirds done with it, but I could no longer deny how burnt out I was. It likely would've taken me another six years to reach the end I had planned, and that end is one that doesn't even sit right with anymore, so...yeah. Time to move on.

    1. Thank you. I struggled with this decision for a long time, but finally had to admit to myself that quitting was the best option. Although I still have a lot of plotting left to do for this new series, it's definitely safe to say that Nicholas and Coco will have some interesting adventures ahead of 'em! XD

  4. Hi Heather!

Thanks to MagicLoveCrow for the introduction. I appreciate you visiting my blog.

With my recent discovery of your blog and ending of Echo Effect, I feel like I missed something big. It must have been, if premiered for six years!

But I'm happy to hear you are embarking on something new. I'm a reluctant fan/writer of horror; a genre I recently embraced. So, I'm looking forward to your new works. All the best!

    1. Even though Echo Effect was a huge part of my life, I've always been a very small fish in the webcomic pond, so this series likely didn't feel big to most others, haha.

And thanks for stopping by! My horror projects tend to be pretty comedic, so I hope you end up finding 'em enjoyable!

  8. Moving on isn't always the easiest choice, but it's often the best. It was probably very difficult to say good-bye to "Echo Effect," but at least you'll still have echoes of your great characters in your new comic. :) Good luck to you. I hope you have lots of fun... and zero stress... with it.

    1. Yeah, I struggled with this decision for a long time. Finally had to admit to myself that I wouldn't be able to finish Echo Effect.

And hahaha, me do something with zero stress? I don't think that's possible! XD

    1. Thank you! I hope people end up enjoying my new series with Nicholas and Coco. I sometimes still worry that quitting was the wrong choice, but I know I had a lot of valid reasons to do so, and that I had even been thinking about this for years, so it's not a decision I'd rushed into lightly...
